Questions

Good to know before you buy

Quick answers to what most people wonder before their first tub.

Can I use this on tattoos I got years ago?
Yes. RestoraBalm works as a daily moisturizer for healed tattoos of any age, not just fresh ones — it's formulated to keep skin soft and support how the color looks over time.
Is it safe to use during a tattoo session?
Yes. Many artists use it in-session as a glide — it's petroleum-free, so it won't clog tubes or leave residue behind.
How often should I apply it?
During healing, a thin layer 2–3 times a day is plenty. For daily upkeep on older tattoos, use it as often as you'd use any body moisturizer.
What's in the formula?
Shea butter, aloe extract, and vitamin E, with no petroleum, parabens, or animal-derived ingredients. Full ingredient list is on the product label.

"My artist used it during my last session and I kept the tub for touch-ups on my other pieces. One balm doing both jobs is honestly convenient."

In-Session Use Multi-Purpose
The Ritual

One balm, every stage of the tattoo

Whether it's fresh off the table or years old, RestoraBalm is built to travel with the piece — healing new ink and reviving old.

In-Session

A thin layer keeps skin workable for the artist, glide-smooth with zero buildup.

First 48 Hours

Apply sparingly to soothe fresh skin and support the earliest stage of healing.

Healing Weeks

Daily moisture helps skin stay soft through peeling without disturbing the ink.

Years Later

Daily use on healed, older ink helps keep skin soft and color looking rich.

Reasons to Love

Loved on both sides of the needle

Built to earn a spot in the artist's kit and the collector's bathroom cabinet alike.

Why Artists Love It

Keeps skin smooth and workable through long sessions without overworking it.

Petroleum-free, so there's no buildup clogging tubes mid-session.

Doesn't interfere with stencils, so linework stays clean.

Glides on smooth for easy, consistent application.

Why Collectors Love It

Nourished skin means tattoos that hold their look for the long haul.

Soothes skin during and after sessions for a more comfortable heal.

Works just as well on healed, older ink as it does on new pieces.

Doubles as a daily moisturizer, tattooed skin or not.

What's Inside

Clean ingredients, nothing hiding

No petroleum, no mystery fillers. Just what skin needs to recover new ink and keep older pieces looking their best.

Shea Butter

Deeply moisturizes and softens skin without feeling greasy.

Aloe Extract

Calms freshly tattooed skin and helps it feel comfortable.

Vitamin E

An antioxidant that supports the skin's natural barrier.

Zero Petroleum

Won't clog tubes or sit heavy on skin — just clean glide.

The Problem

Why most tattoo creams fail (and why RestoraBalm doesn't)

Most tattoo aftercare products lean on cheap, heavy bases that sit on skin instead of working with it.

Petroleum-heavy bases

Many balms rely on petroleum jelly as filler. It sits on top of skin, can clog tubes during a session, and often feels greasy without actually absorbing.

RestoraBalm's shea-based formula

Shea butter and aloe absorb rather than sit on top, so skin stays soft without the heavy, greasy residue.

One-time-use only

A lot of aftercare products are formulated only for the first two weeks, then get shoved in a drawer — not built for daily, long-term use.

Built for the long haul

The same formula works from in-session glide through years of daily upkeep on healed ink — one tub, not three products.

The Difference

Why artists reach for it twice

Built to work during the session and long after, not just one or the other.

"Soothed the elbow ditch better than anything else! This took the post-healing itch away better than anything else. My ditch has healed so fast, and that's one of the most annoying areas to heal since it's under a joint. It's not very greasy but you'll want to be gentle applying it since it's thick, it doesn't glide quite like moisturizer. I can't tell if it made my healed tattoos more vibrant to be honest, but it's worth the money just for soothing that itch. It smells lovely too! I haven't had any reaction or irritation to it and I've used it for a few days on some healed work and a healing piece. I do wish it came in a squeeze bottle because digging around in a pot of ointment was never my thing, but just wash your hands and you'll be fine."

"I'm an avid user of Aquaphor for all my tattoo moisturizing needs, and this by far has kept my tattoo moisturized ALL DAY. I work long 13-14-hour work days, and I just apply an even coat once in the morning, and it stays nice and hydrated all day until I reapply at night time. I will say it is on the greasier side, but not sticky compared to Aquaphor. The scent is very minimal, so I'm not sure why the other reviews are complaining about it. Highly recommend trying!"

"I will always use this over lotion when it comes to tattoo recovery or an everyday tattoo moisturizer. Absorption: 5/5 — it really absorbs well, and healing feels effortless with noticeably less peeling compared to any other lotions or balms I've tried. Ease of use: 5/5 — this glides on so much better than lotion and feels great on the skin. Value for money: 5/5 — you're not using this the same way you'd use regular lotion, so it lasts a long time."

"First off, this stuff smells like an absolute tropical vacation. The scent is incredible, and the quality of the actual cream is unmatched. It keeps new tattoos perfectly hydrated, stops the dreaded itch in its tracks, and makes colors pop. When it is in its normal state, it glides on like pure luxury. The fatal flaw isn't the formula—it's the delivery truck. If this tub sits on your porch on a hot day, it turns into a liquid puddle. And once it melts, the magic is gone. I tried to rescue it by putting it in the freezer, but it refused to reconstitute properly. It settled into a permanently gritty, sandy texture that feels like applying a light body scrub to a fresh wound. Buy it in the winter, buy it at your local shop, or pray for a cloudy delivery day. It is a 5-star tattoo savior that unfortunately turns into a gritty science experiment if it gets too close to the sun."
